Robert Mickelsen takes some time to explain some of his inspirations and how his art has evolved over the years Hitman Glass' roots can be traced back to the East coast music festival scene and two childhood friends, Doug Dracup and Erik Weissman.
While frequenting events on the music festival circuit, Doug and Erik became enamored with the work of a glass artist and festival vendor named Steve Bates.
Steve, Erik, and Doug struck up a friendship, and eventually a business partnership. In , in Boston, Massachusetts, Hitman Glass was founded. Hitman Glass has since grown into one of the most successful glassblowing companies in North America.
