Everyone thinks Mesita is the best school to attend because of the advanced dual language program. I can tell you that the program is good, but it is over the top.
The kids are not allowed to be kids. The expectations are to high. My kid did well, but many others struggle. This brings down their self esteem. They are all smart, but they are made to feel less than average.
The teachers are caring, but to much pressure is put onto them. There is zero accountability for inappropriate behavior. Many of the students do whatever they want and they do not face the consequences.
Lots of behavior problems at Mesita. Not enough staff watching the kids before school, during recess, transition time, on the buses, physical education class, and after school.
